French Bilingual Translator Team Member

Looking to combine your excellent language & editorial skills, translation, localization experience and real passion for TED Talks into one great job? The translator position at TEDxMontreal offers this mix in a dynamic, multi-cultural, and productive environment. You will work together with all the team members to spread ideas at a global scale, especially in close collaboration with the Marketing & Communications Team.

Key responsibilities:

1. Translate and localize TEDxMontreal Talks, our website and associated content from English to French, and vice-versa.
2. Localize speaker material and TEDx documentation for external people (partnerships, volunteers, etc.)
3. Localize and maintain newsletters and Marketing emails.
4. Localize Marketing material, including banners, ticket sales, and promotions.
5. Translation and maintenance of Social Media content.
6. Being a key member of the TEDxMontreal organizing committee.
7. Performing other related duties as needed and assigned.

The skills we’re looking for:

1. Degree in Translation / Linguistics / Computational Linguistics or equivalent relevant experience.
2. Minimum 2-3 years in the translation / localization industry.
3. Writing and editing experience, if possible.
4. Experience working in a global environment.
5. Strong communication skills.
6. Quality focused.
7. Ability to work well as part of a team.
8. Love for TED!

Although the majority of our meetings take place online with Google Hangout on a biweekly basis, the candidate must be available for face-to-face meetings in Montreal on a regular basis with the larger team. This includes being available for an in-person interview.
