Talk Promotion Team Member

The Talk Promotion Team Member will be responsible for promoting past and future TEDxMontreal Talks. This individual will develop strategies to boost video views and help spread key ideas from the talks to start a dialogue on these important innovations. S/he will accomplish this while maintaining the TEDxMontreal brand identity and will ensure that the messaging is consistent across all forms of communications. S/he will also expand the TEDxMontreal network of followers through TEDxMontreal Talk promotion.


Key responsibilities:

  1. Marketing TEDxMontreal Talks to appeal to all audiences.
  2. Creating snippets for all social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google+, Snapchat, Pinterest, etc.) to boost video views.
  3. Finding and targeting communities related to the Talk topics to help share the videos.
  4. Reaching out to influencers in the field of the Talk topics to share the video.
  5. Organizing a calendar of video promotion dates.
  6. Generating interest in TEDxMontreal content by broadening the awareness through informative events or other contact methods (digital or live).
  7. Maximizing free press (PR) to promote our videos.
  8. Being a key member of the TEDxMontreal organizing committee.
  9. Performing other related duties as needed and assigned.


The skills we’re looking for:

  1. Minimum of 1 year experience in digital and social media marketing.
  2. Multidisciplinary mindset and curiosity.
  3. Ability to build and maintain network relationships.
  4. Self motivated and driven.
  5. Excellent written communication skills.
  6. Bilingual (English and French).
  7. Ability to work well as part of a team.
  8. Ability to follow TED standards and rules.
  9. Love for TED!

Please note that while the majority of our meetings take place online with Google Hangout on a biweekly basis, the candidate must be available for face-to-face meetings in Montreal on a regular basis with the larger team. This includes being available for an in-person interview.
